Small Business Week is here, and our team is spending today with two local business communities.
This morning we’re at the Mississauga Board of Trade’s Small Business Forum, where the agenda covers the 2027 economic outlook, AI and productivity, and buying, selling and succession planning. This evening you can find us at our table at the Oakville Chamber of Commerce’s BDC Small Business Week Business After Hours & Trade Show, at the Oakville Conference Centre from 5 to 7 p.m. If you’re at either event, please stop by and say hello.
It’s been a full month of meeting business owners. Earlier in October, we spent the day at the CanadianSME Small Business Summit in Toronto, where conversations at our booth kept coming back to capital. A lot of owners told us they want better access to financing, resources and financial guidance as they plan for growth. We also heard from industry professionals who are frustrated by how few alternative lenders will step in when traditional financing isn’t an option for their clients. Many of the owners we met didn’t know what flexible options exist beyond the bank, and we’re looking forward to more of those conversations today.
Thank you to Mississauga Board of Trade, Oakville Chamber of Commerce and CanadianSME for bringing so many business owners together this month.
